Diamond Digger Saga by King is a Facebook based casual puzzle game where your objective is to click the similar jewels that are arranged in groups of three or more to dig through them and earn points. What makes this game different from similar games in the genre is the fact that each level has up to four different parts that are also known as ‘depths’ and the deeper you go, the more points you earn and the higher your chances of finding treasure chests.
On its first impression, the game plays like any similar game of the genre. Simply click to pop the groups of similar jewels and you’ll earn points but as you begin to play on a bit you’ll notice that the game is significantly different and has multiple aspects that are unique to the game itself which make it a lot of fun to play.
In terms of gameplay, the basic way to play the game (as mentioned above) is to locate and click the groups of similar jewels that are arranged together. Doing so will remove them from the gameplay area and be replaced by new ones. You’ll earn points depending on how big the group of jewels you popped was.
The game features four different kinds of boosts to choose from and each of these boosts are extremely different from one another in the way they act. While not at all necessary since the game is relatively easy, they still provide a really good edge to the player in those seemingly hard levels.
The levels in the game are of different kinds and have varying objectives which is great. Some levels require you to reach the final depth of the area while some require you to simply build up a set amount of score. At the end of each level you’re given a rating out of three stars depending on how well you did.
Bear in mind that there are a limited amount of moves given to complete each level and failure to do so will result in the level being restarted and all progress made thus far will be lost.
In terms of presentation and visuals, Diamond Digger Saga can be classified as a very visually appealing game. The game looks very well designed in all aspects. The map of the world is really good looking and the levels are all brought to life thanks to all the shining jewels involved in them.
You’ll also encounter some optional micro-transactions along your way in Diamond Digger Saga. The game allows you to acquire extra lives and gold bars for real world money. These gold bars can be used to buy power-ups/boosts. Gold bars can also be acquired simply by playing through the game so both paying and non-paying players will be at equal footing with each other.
