Water Splash is a really enjoyable match-3 game that’s pretty simple both on paper and in terms of gameplay. The game focuses on providing players with the traditional match-3 experience without any additional bells and whistles on top and succeeds with what it aims to do as it’s a game that utilizes all traditional concepts but manages to remain fun on top of that.
The first few levels of Water Splash can be considered introductory levels. In each of the initial few levels you’ll be taught about the core mechanics of the game. Things like how to combine balloons, how to create special balloons and a bunch of other necessary elements of the game. Once you’re through with these ‘tutorial levels’ you’ll have a very good understanding of how everything in the game works and will be capable of taking on any challenge that comes to you.
The gameplay of Water Splash, as mentioned before, is as traditional as it gets. You’ll have to combine balloons in rows of at least three which will cause them to pop and give you points in exchange. Combining more than three balloons in one turn will lead to a special bubble spawning that can have different kinds of effects for instance some explode in a set radius around them while others explode in a complete horizontal or diagonal line. There are of course power-ups that you can utilize along the way to give yourself an edge during gameplay and to make the challenging levels a bit easier.
To keep things fresh, each new level in water splash has a unique objective of its own to complete. Some levels will require you to reach a certain amount of points while others will require you to pop balloons on specific times or sometimes you’ll be asked to pop a specified balloon ‘x’ number of times. The objectives vary with each level so the game never feels repetitive.
Going into the visuals, Water Splash looks quite nice. Although it won’t give you any kind of high resolution textures, sharp details or anything like that, the game manages to remain visually appealing thanks to the really bright color palette utilized and the really fluid animations that occur when you pop balloons.
There’s a premium currency in the game which are the jewels. Jewels can be used to acquire a bunch of different things such as extra lives or power-ups. Jewels are generally bought with real world money but you’ll also be given a fair bit of jewels for free as you progress through the game.
Water Splash is a really enjoyable and addictive match-3 game that stays true to the traditional formula and manages to deliver a really fun experience. Water Splash Summary
