The gameplay of Witchcraft is sort of a mix of match-3 and fantasy RPG games but most of its focus is of course towards the match-3 gameplay. It employs a really well designed questing system that’s been designed to make sure that new players always have a sense of direction and never feel idle. There are even a bunch of exploration elements to give players a nice change of pace from all the usual match-3 play.
Onto the actual match-3 play, the game uses a sort of PvP system in which every match you make will deal damage to your opponent or have some other effect depending on the objects that were matched. Green objects will heal, grey objects will give you a shield and most of the others will just deal damage. If you manage to match at least four or more objects in the same turn then whatever objects you match will have a pretty big bonus effect so it’s recommended that you try and seek large matches in order to obliterate your opponent as quickly as possible.
Going into the visuals, Witchcraft has a lot of eye candy for players to enjoy. The artwork is fantastic and the RPG elements actually work pretty nicely in a match-3 setting which is a pleasant surprise.
